The Tenet-AZ Region is looking for a First Assist Technician to join our dedicated team in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Role and Responsibilities

The Surgical First Assistant plays a crucial role in the operating room, executing specific tasks as per the surgeon's preferences while employing appropriate techniques. Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing incisions and ensuring proper exposure during surgical procedures.
  • Maintaining hemostasis through various methods, including manual techniques and energy sources.
  • Assisting in the manipulation and dissection of tissues, as well as the implantation and removal of devices.
  • Applying suitable dressing materials tailored to each procedure.
  • Collaborating with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient positioning and safety.
Essential Skills

Candidates must possess:

  • Exceptional communication abilities.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to adapt to the dynamic nature of surgical environments.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Education: Completion of a formal Non-Physician Surgical Assistant program accredited by CAAHEP.
  • Experience: Preferred one year of experience as a certified surgical technician with first assist capabilities.
  • Certifications: Required CFSA - Certified Surgical First Assist or CSA - Certified Surgical Assistant.

This position is integral to the surgical team, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
