Your Role

As an IT Compliance Auditor, you will engage in audit planning, conducting walkthroughs, testing, coordinating remediation efforts, and overseeing SOX compliance monitoring. You will play a crucial role in annual IT risk assessments and scoping. Your expertise will help you navigate the intersection of financial, operational, and IT controls as they relate to our essential business operations. Familiarity with COSO and COBIT frameworks will be vital as you apply these standards in your audits. You will collaborate with external auditors to assess the implications of new PCAOB regulations on both internal and external audit procedures. Your audit experience will be instrumental in pinpointing risk areas, formulating audit strategies, executing internal audits, and effectively communicating findings and recommendations to management.

Daily Responsibilities
  • Conduct audit scheduling, walkthroughs, testing, and remediation coordination while ensuring SOX compliance.
  • Assist in annual IT risk assessments and scoping.
  • Evaluate risk concerning financial, operational, and IT controls, and develop corresponding audit plans.
  • Provide advisory insights during the planning and implementation phases of ERP and other financially relevant systems.
  • Document and share audit results, prepare reports, and present recommendations to various management levels.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of IT controls and monitor changes in control designs.
  • Utilize COSO and COBIT frameworks effectively within audit processes.
  • Facilitate internal training on IT SOX compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with IT management to ensure the availability of audit evidence and identify updates in IT processes.
  • Engage with external auditors to understand the impact of new PCAOB requirements.
  • Leverage IT knowledge to participate in system development from a compliance perspective.
  • Formulate corrective action plans in collaboration with IT and business units.
  • Work closely with various functions and business leaders to deliver innovative solutions to business challenges.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing manual controls through automation.
  • Assist in the development of automated controls monitoring solutions across the organization.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an IT auditor or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of accounting and business processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or a degree in accounting/business with IT experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant audit experience.
  • Experience with SOX IT audits.
  • Familiarity with auditing financial system implementations and upgrades.
  • Ability to analyze data effectively, grounded in a solid understanding of process and control risks.
  • U.S. citizenship may be required for auditing government contracts.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with publicly traded companies or Big 4 accounting firms.
  • Certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
  • Audit experience with SAP, Oracle EBS, and telecom systems.
  • Hands-on experience with various technical tools, including SQL, AWS, and Python.
  • Ability to interpret unfamiliar code or query logic and understand its functionality.
  • Capability to create technical documentation for non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in auditing financial reports and providing advisory feedback on key reports.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $83,000 to $145,900 annually. At Viasat, we consider various factors when determining compensation, including the scope of the role and your experience. Additional incentives may be included as part of the compensation package, along with a comprehensive range of benefits focused on your overall health and wellness.
