Position Overview:

As a Senior Pharmacy Inventory Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our drug inventory management. Your responsibilities will encompass overseeing the inventory within both the storage and operational areas, managing pharmacy automation supplies, and guiding pharmacy staff in inventory replenishment and return processes. You will report directly to the Lead Operations Pharmacist and collaborate closely with the Pharmacy Manager. This position is vital for fostering a safe and effective pharmacy inventory system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the pharmacy inventory by conducting physical inventory assessments, documenting inventory changes, and collaborating with the inventory supervisor to address discrepancies.
  • Design and implement training programs focused on pharmacy automation and inventory management.
  • Supervise return-to-stock procedures and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate the disposal of medications and manage the return of pharmacy packages in accordance with industry regulations.
  • Participate in inventory meetings and present updates on inventory-related tasks.
  • Contribute to year-end inventory preparations and assist with on-site inventory counts.
  • Train pharmacy technicians on inventory management protocols and responsibilities.
  • Adhere to all federal and state regulations regarding prescription management and handling.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
  • Attend pharmacy team meetings and contribute to team objectives.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures to drive quality improvements.
  • Maintain a clean and compliant work environment in accordance with FDA regulations.
  • Support pharmacy operations by assisting with medication preparation and dispensing as permitted.
  • Implement infection control policies to safeguard patients and staff.
  • Organize medications for pharmacist dispensing by interpreting orders and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned to support team objectives.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Possess a Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician License (EXCPT or PTCB).
  • Hold an active Certified Pharmacy Technician registration with the relevant state board.
  • Have a minimum of one year of experience with pharmacy automation systems.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and the ability to work collaboratively.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based computer systems.
