The Vice President of Emergency Services is responsible for the comprehensive coordination, planning, and management of the administrative, financial, and operational aspects of Emergency Services and Trauma.
This role encompasses direct patient care and clinical operations, ensuring that high-quality, compassionate care is consistently delivered across inpatient, outpatient, and community environments. The Vice President will formulate, implement, and assess policies, programs, and services that align with the organization's mission and the department's vision.
Salary: $129,509 - $213,691
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic and Operational Planning:
- Develop and achieve departmental goals that support the overall mission of the organization.
- Collaborate with department leadership to establish evidence-based goals for Emergency Services and Trauma.
- Facilitate departmental strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Identify performance indicators to measure the success of strategic initiatives.
- Provide administrative oversight in the development and execution of long-term policies and programs.
- Foster collaborative relationships with medical staff to achieve departmental objectives.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
2. Planning and Program Management:
- Oversee the formulation and implementation of current policies and programs.
- Evaluate program outcomes and adjust strategies as necessary.
- Analyze policy decisions for their financial and organizational impact.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
3. Operational Management:
- Oversee daily operations of Emergency Services and Trauma departments.
- Monitor departmental personnel performance to ensure goal achievement.
- Demonstrate effective leadership to enhance productivity.
- Support the integration of clinical nursing research.
- Promote partnerships with educational institutions for clinical training.
4. Financial Management:
- Develop operating and capital budgets based on departmental needs.
- Manage budgets responsibly and prepare analytical reports to identify trends and opportunities.
5. Human Resource Management:
- Recruit and mentor qualified personnel.
- Ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
- Provide for ongoing education and professional development of staff.
6. Leadership Across the Organization:
- Mentor direct reports and foster a culture of accountability.
- Participate in hospital committees and support organizational functions.
7. Patient Safety:
- Monitor compliance with professional and regulatory standards.
- Implement and oversee departmental safety programs.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in health, business, education, or a related field.
- 7-10 years of nursing experience in Emergency Services and/or Trauma.
- Proven management experience of at least 3-5 years.
- Strong communication skills at all organizational levels.
- Ability to foster a collaborative environment among healthcare team members.
- Knowledge of quality improvement concepts and techniques.
Physical Demands:
- Requires constant standing, walking, and effective communication.
- May involve exposure to infectious materials and chemicals in clinical settings.
