The Crisis Care Clinician will operate within a community mental health framework, delivering essential services to individuals and families facing urgent behavioral health challenges, including mental health crises and substance use disorders.

Key responsibilities will encompass conducting thorough evaluations for mental health and substance use issues, crafting tailored treatment strategies that prioritize safety and effective crisis resolution, facilitating referrals to community resources, and providing psychoeducation. Additionally, the clinician will coordinate acute treatment services as necessary, employing evidence-based methodologies.

Collaboration with the Clinic Director and the outpatient clinic team is crucial, fostering transparent communication, support, and accountability among staff and clients.

This role requires the clinician to be available for evening shifts throughout the week and on Saturdays, providing on-site, in-person services at the outpatient clinic.


Core Responsibilities:


1. Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans, as well as offer consultation for pre-crisis and crisis management strategies, behavioral guidelines, risk evaluations, and medication management plans.


2. Effectively de-escalate crises to ensure the safety and well-being of all parties involved.

3. Assess client needs and implement interventions aligned with best practices for emergency care, crisis management, and recovery.


4. Complete necessary documentation promptly, adhering to regulatory requirements.


5. Utilize evidence-based screening instruments as directed by the clinical team.


6. Collaborate with teams and programs to create and execute positive behavior support strategies.


7. Actively engage in all licensing and accreditation activities.


8. Serve as a liaison to relevant service systems, state agencies, and community partners as required.

Maintain open and effective communication to meet contract obligations and advance the mission of the Mental Health Association within the community.

Establish and nurture relationships with local, state, federal, and private organizations to promote programs and identify potential partnerships and funding opportunities.

Pursue professional development activities, including attending conferences, workshops, and representing the agency at relevant meetings and committees.

Uphold and integrate the agency's mission, values, philosophy, and principles in all aspects of work.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Clinic Director.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
A Master's Degree in a behavioral health discipline is required.

Preferred candidates will possess a professional license or be license-eligible in the state of Massachusetts (e.g., LICSW, LCSW, LMHC).


This position necessitates evening availability four days a week until 7 PM (Monday through Thursday) and every other Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.

While remote work is permitted in the mornings, in-person presence is required between 5 PM and 7 PM and on Saturdays worked.
