Job Description

Emerson, a leading organization in automation technology, is seeking a highly skilled PLC Controls Engineer to join our team at the Appleton Foundry in South Milwaukee, WI. This exciting opportunity offers a chance to advance your career and contribute to the development of electrical controls systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enforce safety programs to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Supervise facility systems utilizing various computer software programs.
  • Take ownership and provide innovative insights to electrical control systems, including PLC data collection and display.
  • Solve complex electrical component and input/output device issues.
  • Provide electrical planning assistance in multiple capital projects.
  • Assist the maintenance team in troubleshooting equipment issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent education with a solid history of electrical controls capabilities.
  • Relevant years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment with automation control systems commensurate with the level of this position.
  • Strong PLC knowledge with understanding of multiple manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to connect equipment input/output data into facility computer monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 electrical codes.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment with automation control systems.
  • Ability to develop PLC and HMI software programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical process control methodology.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to optimally train electricians and operators pertaining to control systems.
