As a PLC Controls Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and enforcing safety programs to ensure a safe environment for all employees.
  • Supervising facility systems utilizing various computer software programs.
  • Taking ownership and giving new insights to electrical control systems, including PLC data collection and display.
  • Solving multiple manufacturers' electrical components and input/output devices.
  • Providing electrical planning assistance in multiple capital projects.
  • Assisting the maintenance team in troubleshooting equipment issues.

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor of Electrical Engineering or equivalent education with a solid, validated history of electrical controls capabilities.
  • Relevant years of proven experience in a manufacturing environment with automation control systems commensurate with the level of this position.
  • Strong PLC knowledge with understanding of multiple manufacturing systems.
  • Ability to connect equipment input/output data into facility computer monitoring systems.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 70 electrical codes.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

  • 3+ years working in a manufacturing environment with automation control systems.
  • Ability to develop PLC and HMI software programs.
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical process control methodology.
  • Knowledge and practical experience with lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to optimally train electricians and operators pertaining to control systems.
  • Foundry equipment experience a strong plus.
  • Knowledge of Wonderware(AVEVA) and/or Movicon is beneficial.
  • Designing control systems for monitoring production and manufacturing processes.
