Link Associates is a community-focused non-profit organization dedicated to providing services for over 600 individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families since 1953. Our team of more than 300 employees supports full integration into the broader Des Moines community.
Every individual served by Link Associates has a primary diagnosis of intellectual disability, often accompanied by other intellectual and physical conditions. While other organizations may serve this population, Link Associates offers a comprehensive range of services.
Individuals with intellectual disabilities participate in education, employment, leisure activities, and shopping alongside the rest of the community. However, they and their families face unique challenges in securing support, particularly as they transition into adulthood. Adults with intellectual disabilities often go unnoticed, making it more difficult to garner public support as they age.
Link Associates acknowledges these unique service needs by providing residential, day habilitation, community employment, transportation, case management, and leisure services. Together, these offerings address the full spectrum of lifelong needs, as well as the needs of their families.
