Job Title: Medical Device Software Engineer

As a Medical Device Software Engineer at Philips North America, you will be responsible for shaping system requirements for our Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) Clinical Imaging Software. You will translate user needs into impactful design and ensure top-notch safety and usability.

Your Role:

  • Translate business needs, user requirements, and clinical scenarios into detailed software system requirements.
  • Decompose systems into specific software elements with clear traceability and allocate derived requirements down to the unit level.
  • Evaluate design specifications and interfaces, assess feasibility, and lead comprehensive technical design reviews.
  • Ensure full product safety risk management, satisfying all regulatory requirements.
  • Lead risk management activities such as FMEA, identifying design issues and guiding the team in developing effective mitigations.

You're the Right Fit:

  • You have acquired 6+ years of professional engineering experience with a focus on new product development.
  • Your skills include working with systems engineering tools like use scenarios, systems modeling, and requirements management tools such as Jama, Polario, and IBM DOORS.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum physical, cognitive, and environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.

How We Work Together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

This is an office-based role.
