Job Summary:

Northrop Grumman's Armament Systems Business Unit is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join the Specialty Engineering team in Plymouth, MN. The successful candidate will support munition, fuzing, and weapon system development programs, working closely with engineers from various disciplines to ensure the safe and effective design of complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with team members to plan and execute specialty engineering tasks from various domains, including Systems Safety, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Product Cybersecurity, Integrated Logistics Support, Product Support, Human Factors, and Unit Production Cost Modeling.

• Perform detailed specialty engineering analyses in close collaboration with design engineering throughout weapon system development programs, utilizing tools such as Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Software Hazard Analysis (SWHA).

• Work within the Specialty Engineering team to identify applicable standards and guidance to apply to systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with Systems Design Engineering team to define, track, and verify requirements that support system development objectives tied to specialty engineering domains.

• Work with Test Engineering and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) to define processes and procedures that permit safe conduct and execution of test events and manufacturing of systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in an engineering discipline, plus 2 years of experience, or a master's degree plus 0 years of additional experience.

• Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.

• Strong interest to work closely with engineers from various engineering disciplines, including Systems, Mechanical, Electrical, Software, and Production Engineering.

• Familiarity with standard Microsoft Office products and ability to learn new toolsets.

• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

• Department of Defense product experience.

• Experience performing engineering analyses (e.g. Hazard Analysis, FMECA, Statistical Analysis, etc.).

• Relevant Specialty Engineering domain experience (e.g. Safety, RAM, Cybersecurity etc.) or certifications (e.g. GSEC, ASP, etc.).
