Job Summary

The Substance Use Disorder Specialist at Bay Cove Human Services, Inc. provides direct support to individuals seeking recovery from Substance Use Disorders and collaborates with the team to ensure the day-to-day operations of the program.

About the Role

This non-exempt position contributes to Bay Cove's mission by supporting individuals in their recovery journey to recovery and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Supportive Care: Meet individuals' needs and ensure a welcoming environment that promotes dignity and respect.
  • Conduct Searches: Utilize trauma-informed practices upon admission, at discharge, and as otherwise directed by the leadership team.
  • Monitor Wellbeing: Observe individuals throughout shifts, conduct and document wellness checks at assigned intervals, and respond to any observed changes in wellbeing per agency protocol.
  • Promote Participation: Encourage participation in wellness and educational activities, and assist in the facilitation of recreational activities under the guidance of the clinical team.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Participate in general cleanliness and upkeep duties of the program, assist in meal preparation and clean up, and prepare rooms for new admissions as assigned.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School Diploma: Or equivalent (GED) preferred.
  • Experience: Six months experience in health and human service-related field preferred, preferably working with those with co-occurring behavioral health and substance use disorders.
  • Flexibility: Flexibility to work weekends on a scheduled basis, and as-needed with reasonable notice when available.
  • Confidentiality: Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, & boundaries.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrated proficiency in verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer Proficiency: Basic proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.
Compensation

This hourly position is expected to earn an estimated $18-$22 per hour, based on relevant experience and location.
