The Assistant Professor serves as a vital member of the academic faculty, holding an intermediate rank that reflects significant accomplishments in teaching, research, and professional contributions relevant to the field.
Responsibilities include delivering educational content as assigned by the department head, which may encompass advising students academically.
This role also involves engaging in scholarly pursuits beyond classroom instruction, with an expectation of ongoing research productivity aligned with the institution's mission and available resources.
- Instruction will encompass both graduate and undergraduate courses, delivered in various formats including online and in-person.
- Active participation in the department's student organization is encouraged.
- Contributions to the department, college, and university through service activities are expected.
The minimum qualifications for the Assistant Professor position are detailed in the Faculty Handbook. A commitment to understanding and respecting diverse cultures and backgrounds is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
A doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited institution in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline is required (ABD candidates nearing completion may be considered).
Demonstrated potential for high-quality research and evidence of effective teaching in areas such as Cybersecurity, System Hardening, Integration, Application Security, Quality Assurance, Cloud Computing, and other IT or cybersecurity-related subjects are also necessary.
