Position Summary: The Security Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing a sophisticated CCTV surveillance system designed to protect the assets of CarMax locations nationwide. This position involves effective communication with local law enforcement and store personnel to ensure prompt resolution of security incidents. The analyst will work collaboratively with team members during overnight shifts to maintain a secure environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage security technology to safeguard CarMax assets.
  • Respond to a continuous stream of system alerts, assessing potential criminal activities and determining appropriate responses, including contacting law enforcement.
  • Follow up with law enforcement and management to ensure all incidents are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Document all incidents thoroughly in the company's case management system.
  • Evaluate burglar alarm activity reported by third-party services and review CCTV footage to distinguish between criminal activity and false alarms.
  • Assist store managers with live activity reviews and provide support for CCTV-related issues.
  • Conduct daily audits to ensure the functionality of security technology.
  • Maintain security equipment and communicate any issues that require attention.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and vendors to resolve security equipment issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Role Purpose: In alignment with our core value of prioritizing people, the primary responsibility of the Security Operations Analyst is to monitor security systems to protect company associates and property while identifying potential criminal activities. The analyst will adhere to departmental protocols to ensure security platforms are operational and properly maintained, exercising sound judgment in response to alerts and incidents.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required; a college degree is preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a Loss Prevention or security-related field is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and make informed decisions with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibit high ethical standards.
  • Availability to work overnight shifts on weekends.
