Position Overview

The State of Montana is seeking a dedicated Lead Registered Nurse to oversee nursing operations at the Montana State Hospital.

The Montana State Hospital is committed to providing comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care for adults facing significant mental health challenges. As the sole public psychiatric facility in the state, we cater to individuals referred from various communities.

In this role, the Lead Registered Nurse will play a crucial part in fostering a therapeutic atmosphere for our clients. Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and assessing nursing services to ensure high-quality care.
  • Providing immediate support and guidance during crisis situations.
  • Coordinating investigations into unusual incidents and addressing patient concerns.
  • Supervising nursing staff and managing patient services effectively.

This position also offers shift differentials and includes one complimentary meal per shift.

Compensation and Benefits

The role is eligible for a statutory pay increase, enhancing the base salary.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of nursing practices, medications, and treatment planning.

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Minimum Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Montana
  • Preferred: Two years of supervisory experience in a healthcare environment
