Our goal is to foster a nurturing environment where healing and growth can thrive for every student.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a collaborative treatment team to educate and supervise students effectively.
  • Develop and implement a schedule for providing Special Education services to assigned youth.
  • Maintain weekly communication with the Academic Director regarding service schedules.
  • Complete service tracking logs on a weekly basis to monitor progress.
  • Prepare draft Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and submit them to the Academic Director in a timely manner.
  • Direct all Local Education Agency (LEA) communications to the Academic Director.
  • Participate in required professional training sessions.
  • Evaluate and score IEPs as needed.
  • Provide monthly updates on student progress for reporting purposes.
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to team discussions.
  • Uphold student confidentiality and report relevant information to supervisors.
  • Follow appropriate communication channels within the organization.
  • Understand and adhere to the administrative structure and program philosophy of Mount Prospect Academy.
  • Request time off in accordance with company policies.
  • Represent Mount Prospect Academy positively to the community and stakeholders.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including attending meetings and completing assessments.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Minimum requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree with current teaching licensure and two or more years of experience in special education or general education.
  • Experience working with children and youth is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Experience with adolescents facing emotional and behavioral challenges is a plus.
  • Teachers without current licensure must create a professional development plan to achieve licensure.
