About the Opportunity

This role is an exciting opportunity to work in the Electrophysiology medical device division at Abbott, a global healthcare leader. Our portfolio of life-changing technologies spans the spectrum of healthcare, with leading businesses and products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals, and branded generic medicines.

As a Senior Ergonomist Specialist, you will support the ergonomic safety within the manufacturing, R&D, and process development engineering teams. Your goal will be to reduce work-related injuries and illnesses by applying engineering and ergonomic principles.Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the application of engineering and ergonomic principles for existing and new processes, equipment design, and ergonomic program planning, training, and implementation.
  • Partner with site EHS and Occupational health on ergonomic prevention strategies.
  • Identify and assess ergonomic hazards in the workplace.
  • Produce technical reports in a proficient and timely manner.
  • Instruct and/or facilitate training as required.
  • Complete data collection and detailed analysis.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently.
Requirements
  • Degree in Health Sciences or Engineering (Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Exercise Science, Engineering, or Bio-Physical Engineering) with an ergonomic focus preferred.
  • 4+ years of experience working with ergonomic applications in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work in a team for a common goal.
  • Ability to work independently as required.

  • Effective time management and change management skills.
  • Effective written and verbal skills.
  • Effective decision-making skills.
