Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Engineering Faculty member to join our team at Marion Technical College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of engineering courses, assessing student learning, and contributing to the development of curriculum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach engineering courses using applied learning methods and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Evaluate student learning and provide feedback to students, colleagues, and administrators.
  • Develop and update curriculum to ensure it aligns with industry standards and College requirements.
  • Participate in departmental and College committees to contribute to the advancement of the College's mission.
  • Engage in ongoing evaluation and continuous improvement of teaching methodology and curricula.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Maintain a current schedule to accommodate student learning and advising needs.
Requirements

An associate degree in Engineering Technology with at least seven years of industry experience in an engineering technician/maintenance or operations capacity is required. A bachelor's degree in an engineering field is preferred, along with at least five years of work experience in an engineering field. Specialization in automation is highly desired, as is teaching experience within a higher education institution.

Excellent English, communication, and writing skills are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and strong computer and related technology skills. The ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal direction and oversight is also required.

A valid driver's license or dependable transportation is necessary, and the ability to successfully pass a background check, including BCI/FBI, prior to and after employment is mandatory.
