Radiation Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapy Specialist to join our team at Wellspring Nurse Source.
Job Description:The ideal candidate will administer prescribed radiation treatments to patients with cancer or other diseases, using advanced equipment such as linear accelerators. This role plays a critical part in the oncology team, working closely with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to provide safe and effective radiation therapy.
The specialist will ensure accurate treatment delivery, monitor patient progress, and provide compassionate care to patients undergoing radiation therapy. Key responsibilities include:
- Administering radiation therapy treatments according to the radiation oncologist's prescriptions and treatment plans.
- Positioning patients correctly using advanced imaging and treatment equipment, ensuring accuracy and safety during therapy sessions.
- Operating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment, including linear accelerators and simulators, to ensure proper function and safety.
- Collaborating with radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Maintaining detailed patient records, including treatment progress, imaging data, and responses to therapy.
- Educating patients about the radiation therapy process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
- Following strict safety protocols related to radiation exposure, ensuring the use of protective equipment and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Assisting in the calibration and quality assurance of radiation equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of an Associate's degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field.
- Certification as a Certified Radiation Therapist (CRT) or Registered Radiation Therapist (RRT) from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Previous experience in radiation therapy or oncology is highly desirable.

We estimate that the salary for this role will be around $115,000 per year, based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week. Please note that this is an estimate and actual salaries may vary depending on factors such as location and level of experience.
