The role of a Utility Construction Technician involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the efficient operation of water distribution systems. Key duties include:
- Maintaining and repairing water distribution pipelines
- Assisting in the installation and upkeep of auxiliary equipment
- Acquiring knowledge of operational procedures and terminology
- Participating in the general maintenance of water distribution services
- Operating pickup trucks and heavy machinery
- Assisting in the repair of water line leaks and breaks
- Ensuring that the assigned vehicle is clean and properly equipped
- Setting up safety barricades and managing tools
- Being available for shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Performing additional duties as required
