Position Overview

The role of a Utility Construction Technician involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring the efficient operation of water distribution systems. Key duties include:
  • Maintaining and repairing water distribution pipelines
  • Assisting in the installation and upkeep of auxiliary equipment
  • Acquiring knowledge of operational procedures and terminology
  • Participating in the general maintenance of water distribution services
  • Operating pickup trucks and heavy machinery
  • Assisting in the repair of water line leaks and breaks
  • Ensuring that the assigned vehicle is clean and properly equipped
  • Setting up safety barricades and managing tools
  • Being available for shifts, weekends, and holidays
  • Performing additional duties as required
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to execute tasks safely and effectively

Required Qualifications
  • Possession of a valid Texas Driver's License
