About the Job

The Technical Support Engineer is responsible for providing day-to-day support to field crews, including offering expert-level assistance, monitoring system failure rates and causes, and ensuring field crews have access to necessary equipment and stock levels.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide Expert-Level Assistance: Offer expert-level assistance to field crews, including monitoring system failure rates and causes, associated downtime and performance statistics.
  • Maintain Equipment and Stock Levels: Ensure field crews have access to necessary equipment and stock levels via the Supply Chain and Operations teams.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Visits: Arrange relevant field engineer and third-party maintenance visits to vessels.
  • Support Towed Streamer or Source Seismic Vessels: Assist towed streamer or source seismic vessels as required, and as requested by the Technical Manager - Survey and Navigation.
Requirements
  • Detailed Knowledge and Experience: Detailed knowledge of surface and subsea positioning operations and equipment, with extensive experience in this field.
  • Certification and Qualifications: At least degree level in a suitable surveying discipline or equivalent experience, and certification to board vessels offshore.
