Position OverviewSentara Healthcare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our esteemed medical practice in Norfolk, VA.

Employment Type: Full-Time, permanent role (40 hours per week)

Typical Work Hours: 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday (with a one-hour lunch break)

Work Location: Daily reporting at our Norfolk medical facility.

As a Certified Medical Assistant at Sentara, you will collaborate closely with healthcare professionals, performing essential clinical and administrative tasks. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients and preparing them for their appointments.
  • Taking vital signs and ensuring accurate patient information.
  • Conducting phlebotomy and assisting with laboratory procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Medical Assistant (CMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare environment or as an EMT, Paramedic, or Corpsman is preferred.
  • Experience in phlebotomy and familiarity with electronic medical records is advantageous.
