Cybersecurity Data Management Engineer

Zayo Group is seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Data Management Engineer to join our dedicated security team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for safeguarding our critical infrastructure and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our services.
Responsibilities:- Design and implement Log Collection & Analysis solutions to meet security use cases.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and administer effective cybersecurity solutions that align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with efforts to identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks across the organization's digital ecosystem, including network, applications, and data assets.
- Evaluate emerging cyber threats and vulnerabilities, and provide insights to enhance our proactive security posture.
- Manage the design and implementation of security controls to protect sensitive information and prevent unauthorized access.
- Guide incident response activities, ensuring timely detection, containment, and recovery from security incidents or breaches.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and partners to assess and improve the security posture of shared systems and services.
- Contribute to the development of security policies, procedures, and guidelines, and assist in ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field OR equivalent experience.
- Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent, strongly preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years experience in cybersecurity engineering, including hands-on experience with intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, SIEM tools, endpoint protection, or vulnerability management.
- Experience with Cribl, Sumo Logic or other SIEM log collection platforms.
- Proven track record of supporting security initiatives and projects, demonstrating an understanding of cybersecurity principles.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, MITRE ATT&CK) and their practical application.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
