Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer combination.
  • Transport freight while adhering to all applicable traffic laws and regulations.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance concerns.
  • Load and unload freight utilizing pallet jacks, forklifts, and other necessary equipment.
  • Secure freight with straps, chains, and other appropriate tools to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
  • Maintain precise logs of working hours, vehicle inspections, and freight deliveries.
  • Effectively communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate delivery schedules.
  • Follow company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • 1-3 years of experience operating a tractor-trailer and managing touch freight.
  • Capability to lift heavy items and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and transportation management systems (TMS).
  • Hazmat endorsement or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Understanding of DOT regulations and procedures.
