Position Overview:
Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) is seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech Language Pathologist to enhance our educational community. This role primarily focuses on supporting students with communication challenges, ensuring they achieve their fullest potential in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct screenings and evaluations for students with suspected communication disorders, including articulation, voice, language, and fluency.
2. Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs, regularly assessing their progress.
3. Collaborate with a team of qualified professionals to contribute to the IEP development process and diagnose eligibility based on established policies.
4. Utilize a variety of assessment tools, both formal and informal, to create clear and objective evaluations.
5. Maintain accurate documentation for Medicaid billing and adhere to state and federal regulations regarding students with disabilities.
6. Provide consultation and support to classroom teachers, parents, and caregivers to integrate therapy strategies effectively across all educational settings.
7. Participate in school-based teams to identify at-risk students and design research-based interventions.

Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in speech language pathology from an accredited institution.
- RIDE Certification for All Grades Speech and Language Pathologist, Grades PK-12.
- ESL Certification is preferred.

Work Environment:
PPSD serves a diverse student population, with approximately 55% of students coming from homes where English is not the primary language. Our commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment is paramount.
