Role Summary: This role is integral to the operations of Military Treatment Facilities under the Defense Health Agency.

- Act as a clinical case manager, ensuring efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective healthcare resource utilization and support for the Department of Defense.
- Design, implement, and oversee clinical case management initiatives within Military Treatment Facilities.
- Assess and evaluate clinical case management processes, ensuring continuous improvement and quality assurance.
- Foster collaboration with non-Military Treatment Facilities and community healthcare providers to enhance care continuity.
Requirements:
- Appointment may require a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
- A Personnel Security Investigation is mandatory.
- This position involves regular interaction with individuals under eighteen, necessitating specific background checks.
- Selected candidates must consent to seasonal influenza vaccinations or provide a recognized exemption.
- This role is subject to pre-employment screening and random drug testing.
- Immunization screening is essential, including Hepatitis B for positions with direct patient contact.
- Must maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross.

To qualify, candidates must meet the following educational and experience criteria:
Basic Requirement for Clinical Nurse Advisor:
Education: A graduate or higher-level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited nursing program is required. Accreditation must be recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time of degree completion. (Transcripts must be attached.)
Licensure: A current, unrestricted license as a professional nurse from a U.S. state or territory, with successful completion of the National Council Licensure Examination.
Foreign Degree: Graduates from foreign nursing programs must have completed the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools Certification Program, including credential evaluation and English proficiency examination. A copy of the CGFNS Certificate is required.
Exemption: Current federal employees in the 0610 occupational series since September 27, 2017, may be exempt from some requirements.
Experience: A diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in nursing, with at least one year of professional nursing experience at the GS-9 level or above, including program coordination and staff education.
OR
Education: A PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in nursing or a related medical field.
Additional Information:
