Job Summary:

As a key member of the Audiology/Hear Center team, the successful candidate will provide technical and patient care support to the Audiology doctors. This role involves assisting with evaluation tests, procedures, and hearing aid fitting and patient instruction. The ideal candidate will also serve as a triage for urgent, emergent, and general Audiology needs, both on the phone and in person.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient instruction on hearing aid use, care, and maintenance, as well as explaining purchase and service agreements.
  • Assist with diagnostic evaluations, including documenting presenting complaints, administering patient forms, and providing patient instructions.
  • Support product handling, including shipping, receiving, ordering, and inventory of hearing aid devices and accessories.
  • Interface with vendors as needed and maintain inventory databases.
  • Prepare patient blue boxes, including forms, documentation, and products, and scan forms to EPIC as needed.
  • Provide daily clinical support duties, including telephone consultations and triaging patient care needs.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and calibration schedules, clean instruments and patient care areas, and ensure adequate supplies of diagnostic and hearing aid-related supplies.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a directly related field, with an associate's degree or two years of experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to understand technical information.
  • Comfortable working with small electronic devices and small parts.
  • Computer experience in a MS Windows environment and keyboarding skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Customer service skills for internal and external customers.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Ability to explain technical information in a patient-friendly manner.
  • Experience working with hearing aids and patients, with a preference for two years of experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
