Job Overview

The Athletic Event Operations Assistant plays a crucial role in facilitating the successful execution of game day activities within the Golden Eagles Athletic Department. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities that contribute to the overall experience of home intercollegiate sports events. The primary objective of the event operations team is to cultivate a secure and welcoming atmosphere for all participants, spectators, officials, and staff involved in the events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Roles may include, but are not limited to, video production, live streaming, recording events, play-by-play commentary, photography, multimedia design, officiating statistics, managing shot clocks, scoreboard operations, public address announcing, and on-field/court support.
  • Set up and dismantle all necessary equipment for athletic events held in both indoor and outdoor venues.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Availability to work flexible hours during evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills.
  • Follow both verbal and written instructions meticulously while paying close attention to detail.
  • Manage multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comprehensive understanding of sports rules, including Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Softball, and Baseball.
  • Prior experience in event management or game operations.
  • Capability to maintain precise records, enforce regulations, and uphold policies.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse team in a dynamic environment.
  • Enthusiasm and adaptability in a setting characterized by constant change.
  • Maintain neutrality and refrain from cheering during events.
  • Exhibit respect and hospitality towards all participants, fans, officials, and staff.
Educational Requirements:
  • Current student at La Sierra University.
  • Certification in CPR and first aid is required.
Physical Demands:
  • Capability to stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to see, hear, and run as necessary for assigned sports.
  • Capacity to lift and transport various pieces of equipment.
Compensation: $16-$16.90 per hour
