We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at UnityPoint Health. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Radiation Oncology department.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Therapeutic Radiation Treatments: Administer radiation treatments to patients according to radiation oncologists' prescriptions and plans.
- Coordinate Patient Care: Coordinate and schedule appointments with patients, confirm scheduled appointments, and maintain positive communications with patients and staff.
- Operate Radiation Equipment: Operate linear accelerators and CT Simulators, and perform QA testing daily.
- Communicate Effectively: Answer incoming telephone calls, communicate with patients and staff, and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and external partners.
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent, and a minimum Associate's Degree from an AMA-accredited school of Radiation Therapy.
- Experience: One year of experience as a Radiation Therapist is desired.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency/Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (IEMA) license to practice Radiation Therapy, and current American Registry of Radiological Technologists (AART) certification required to practice Radiation Therapy.
