Job Overview

Position: Quality Team Member

Reports to: Quality Manager

Department: Quality Assurance

Position Summary:

The Quality Team Member plays a crucial role in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, executing repetitive quality assurance tasks on an assembly line dedicated to seat production, as well as in the receiving and shipping departments. This position utilizes specialized tools and equipment to ensure that all products meet stringent quality specifications and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Quality Assurance Department in upholding the highest quality benchmarks for all components, products, and final outputs.
  • Conduct inspections of completed products prior to their transfer to subsequent departments or storage areas.
  • Perform layered audits and quality assessments.
  • Create comprehensive quality documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with Supervisors to resolve production or processing challenges.
  • Work alongside department Supervisors and Managers to define and monitor product quality standards, including evaluating raw material samples and overseeing testing during production.
  • Examine components to verify compliance with quality standards.
  • Support the setup and calibration of measuring and gauging instruments; provide training to production staff on the use of these devices.
  • Track components and manage waste materials.
  • Package completed products and prepare them for distribution as necessary.
  • Rotate through various tasks required in the production process.
  • Ensure compliance with 5-S principles.
  • Engage in various operations within the team to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Adhere to Quality policies and standards, including ISO 9001, TS16949, and IATF16949.
  • Follow all environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive understanding of quality systems, including TS16949, ISO, and QS; experience in continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen, 5-S, lean manufacturing, KANBAN, and TPS.
  • Experience in quality assurance within an assembly and manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to successfully complete the X Rite color hue assessment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Ability to identify visual defects and contribute to quality-related decisions.
  • Proficient in the use of quality measurement tools and devices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Competent in basic math, reading, and writing.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
