The Construction Technician plays a vital role in executing a variety of construction and maintenance tasks. This position encompasses a range of responsibilities from simple repairs to more complex projects, ensuring quality workmanship in every aspect of the job.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construction Activities:
    Carry out various installation and repair tasks including:
  1. Basic installation and maintenance of different flooring types such as carpeting, vinyl, hardwood, and laminate.
  2. Drywall repairs, including hanging, taping, and finishing.
  3. Installation of trim, baseboards, and other molding elements.
  4. Door and door hardware installation.
  5. Cabinet and countertop assembly and installation.
  6. Basic painting tasks, including caulking and filling gaps.
  7. Minor plumbing, electrical, and HVAC system repairs.
  8. Installation of lighting fixtures.
  9. Appliance setup including refrigerators, microwaves, and ovens.
  10. Window installation and repairs.
  11. Perform necessary board-ups.
  12. Address punch list items as needed.
  13. Maintain cleanliness upon completion of tasks.
Customer Support

Assist customers by providing guidance on the use of installed systems and components.

Additional Duties
  • Ensure all tasks meet industry standards and local regulations.
  • Identify and recommend additional repairs when necessary.
  • Document all completed work as required.
  • Complete work orders efficiently and promptly.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years in a construction-related role.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic mathematical abilities.
  • Familiarity with construction tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Proficient carpentry skills, including trim work and framing.
Education

High school diploma or GED is required.

Work Environment

This role involves physical activity including walking, standing, and climbing ladders. Candidates must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and work in various environmental conditions.

Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with standard working hours, but may require additional hours, on-call duties, and occasional travel.
