Job Overview:

  • This role offers the potential for transition to a permanent position or extension based on performance evaluations.
  • Management is receptive to candidates willing to relocate at their own expense.
  • Panel interviews will be conducted for this position, lasting approximately 60 minutes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the upkeep of the reference management program for U.S. biologics facilities.
  • Ensure adherence to USDA regulations and standards concerning reference materials and in vitro potency assessments.
  • Conduct in vitro evaluations to determine the stability of reference materials for both pre- and post-licensure products.
  • Prepare and assess small-scale vaccines to aid in the formulation of new reference materials.
  • Support the formulation, dispensing, and testing of new reference materials as part of the qualification process.
  • Engage and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Biotechnology Solutions-Analytics, Production, Quality Control, and Regulatory Affairs, to facilitate the qualification of new reference materials.
  • May assist in the development of protocols or reports for USDA submission.
  • May participate in critical reagent qualification studies.
  • May provide technical assistance for approved Quality Control assays.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant biological discipline (Bacteriology, Biology, Microbiology, Virology).
  • Candidates should possess 1-3 years of ELISA experience in a laboratory environment, preferably in the industry.
  • 1-3 years of laboratory experience with ELISA, ideally in Animal Health or related sectors.
  • Ability to independently design and execute scientific experiments.
  • Experience in an R&D or Quality Control laboratory setting.
  • Proficient in developing, utilizing, and troubleshooting in vitro analytical tests, primarily ELISA.
  • Familiarity with USDA regulations pertaining to biological products.
  • This position requires on-site presence in De Soto, KS, with a flexible work schedule available.
