Job Title: Sr. Registered Medical Scientist

University Health (UH) is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Registered Medical Scientist to join our team in the General Lab at UH/LMC. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex tests on blood and body fluids to provide critical information for diagnosing and combating disease.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform high-complexity tests on blood and body fluids to provide accurate and timely results.
  • Work independently with moderate supervision from a Medical Scientist Supervisor or the Director of Laboratory Operations.
  • May be assigned to work in a specialized section within the department.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory/medical technology science and ASCP (or equivalent) certification in one or more specialty areas of the laboratory.
  • Verbal communication skills required to interact with other hospital personnel.
  • Writing skills and computer aptitude required to document test results and prepare reports of daily work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Must be available to rotate shifts and work weekends and holidays.
