Job Title: ISP Technician

By Light Professional IT Services is seeking a skilled ISP Technician to support the Regional Network Enterprise Center (RNEC) Joint Base Langley-Eustis (JBLE), Virginia, Local Network Enterprise Center (LNEC) Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, and Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek Fort Story (JEBLCFS), Virginia, with classified and unclassified communication systems support.

Responsibilities:
  • Support customer telephone requirements, including responding to service requests, isolation, and repair of telephone troubles.
  • Maintain all network cabling infrastructure, network equipment, voice, video, data systems, and ancillary equipment.
  • Maintain files for all completed work requests.
  • Install, remove, and move all instruments, service lines, and LAN service associated with Administrative Telephone Services (ATS) and Information Technology Services.
  • Install Wireless Network Access Points to support access to the installation infrastructure.
  • Support emergency work requests within two hours of oral or written notification.
  • Support modernization programs, such as Network Modernizations-Continental United States (NETMOD-C), Installation Information Infrastructure Modernization Program (I3MP).
  • Participate in technical support to engineering design reviews, technical working groups, Change Control Board (CCB) process/board, and miscellaneous meetings and briefings.
  • Provide property accountability for all accountable telecommunication equipment using the standard Army accountability system for all O&M maintenance actions.
  • Support after-duty hour emergency maintenance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate's degree or high school graduate with 4 years of ISP experience.
  • Minimum of three years' ISP experience on maintenance, installation, testing, patching, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems.
  • Qualified to support ISP requirements, including the installation, operation, and maintenance of voice and infrastructure services.
  • Proficient in site safety, site surveys, blueprint reading, bonding and grounding (earthing), and firestopping practices.
  • Able to interpret blueprints, applying a standards-compliant labeling scheme.
  • Able to troubleshoot Unshielded Twisted Pair (UTP) link/channel with a certification test set.
  • Able to troubleshoot an optical fiber channel with an optical time domain reflectometer (OTDR).
  • Experienced on the testing and installation of CAT5/CAT6 cable.
  • Has user-level experience with Microsoft Windows OS, Microsoft Office Products, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Fluent in the spoken and written English language, including technical terms commonly used in information technology (IT), network routing and switching, telecommunications, IT maintenance, and technical control facilities.
  • Residential Qualification (On-the-Job) - BICSI Level 1.
  • Has the ability to interface with management and brief senior leadership on status of program status and risks.
