About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Carson Oil Company. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine vehicle preventative maintenance inspections and adjustments, repairing malfunctioning components, and performing a variety of routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine vehicle preventative maintenance inspections and adjustments
  • Repair malfunctioning components, change brakes, adjust steering systems, replace worn out parts, and change hydraulic fluids
  • Extensive engine experience on Cummings ISX, Caterpillar, and Paccar MX, Detroit
  • Knowledge in the Cummings onsite diagnoses program and the Paccar Davies diagnoses program
  • Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, and precision instruments, as well as power tools such as pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, and jacks and hoists
  • Perform a variety of routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and changing tires
  • Adjustments and light repairs such as tire changes, light changes, and basic electrical work
  • Experience in petroleum tanker piping systems a plus
  • Aluminum welding experience is a plus
  • Complete all applicable company training programs
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
  • At least 3 years of diesel mechanic experience
  • Experience using diagnostic software (Davie Diagnostic, Cummins Insight, or DiagnosticLink are highly preferred)
  • Stable job history
  • After treatment diagnostic and repairs experience
