X-Ray Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled X-Ray Technologist to join our team at The Urgent Care. As an X-Ray Technologist, you will be responsible for taking radiographic images of patients' bones, tissues, and organs using x-ray equipment. Your duties will include verifying patient identity, reviewing provider orders, and explaining procedures to patients.

X-Ray Technologist Responsibilities:

  • Take radiographic images of patients using x-ray equipment
  • Verify patient identity and review provider orders
  • Explain procedures to patients and answer their questions
  • Position patients and adjust imaging equipment as needed
  • Limited patient radiation exposure by using shields and ensuring quality images
  • Notify management of damaged or malfunctioning equipment
  • Maintain accurate records of completed procedures in the EMR
  • Triaging patients, escorting them to exam rooms, and performing labs and injections as needed
  • Support patients and providers throughout the visit
  • Assist with incoming calls and schedule check-in times as necessary
  • Turn over rooms, clean and disinfect exam rooms, and maintain a safe working environment
  • Stock and restock supplies

X-Ray Technologist Qualifications:

  • Experience with diagnostic x-ray preferred
  • Experience with vital signs and medical assistant duties preferred
  • Clinical skills, procedural skills, inventory control, EKG, blood draw, administering injections, performing CLIA waived testing, specimen collections, splint applications, multi-tasking, flexibility, and knowledge of universal precautions
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and infection control
  • Pleasant interpersonal demeanor and ability to work with all levels of associates and leadership
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

X-Ray Technologist Requirements:

  • Trained and licensed to perform x-rays in the state of Louisiana without restrictions
  • Certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registration
  • Graduate from an Accredited Radiologic Technologist Program
  • Minimum 5 years of radiology experience preferred
  • Experience with EMRs
  • Ability to move or lift patients
  • Pass periodic competency testing
  • Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials
  • BLS certified within 90 days of employment
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Open and flexible availability, including weekend availability
