We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team at the University of California, Irvine. As a key member of our ambulatory clinic team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and ensuring a smooth registration and scheduling process.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the first point of contact for patients in the ambulatory clinics, providing a warm and welcoming experience
- Perform general clerical and reception duties, including data entry and verification of insurance and/or third-party coverage
- Schedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments in a timely and efficient manner
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Stay up-to-date with changing policies, procedures, and regulations related to patient access and registration
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
- Proficiency in computer software applications, including data entry and retrieval systems
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and insurance programs
- Experience working in a hospital or medical office setting, with a focus on patient access and registration
- Bilingual skill in Spanish or Vietnamese or Chinese
