Job Title:

Preschool Early Intervention Speech Language Pathologist: Itinerant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to provide itinerant services to Preschool Early Intervention classrooms and community settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering specially designed instruction/consultation to eligible young children, conducting screenings and in-depth evaluations, and developing individualized education programs (IEPs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage itinerant caseload and travel throughout Allegheny County to provide services in community settings, preschools, childcare centers, and homes.
  • Participate in developmental screenings and evaluations, documenting results and communicating with parents/guardians.
  • Develop and implement IEPs based on evaluation results, working collaboratively with other professionals and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with community partners to establish positive relationships and ensure effective service delivery.
  • Stay up-to-date with current assessment tools and methodologies, reporting results accurately and in compliance with program and state guidelines.
Requirements:
  • Valid PA certification in Speech Language Impaired K-12
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology
  • ASHA CCCs or Clinical Fellow candidate who has passed the ASHA exam
  • Experience working with preschool populations in early childhood environments (preferred)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, prioritize tasks, and work under pressure
Working Conditions:

The physical demands of this position require sitting for extended periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and moving fingers and hands in a repetitive manner. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.

Additional Requirements:
  • Current Act 114, Act 34, Act 151, and NSOR clearances are required prior to hire date
  • School Personnel Health Record (Form H) must be completed and received by Human Resources prior to hire date
