Join Our Team as a Certified Automotive Service Technician
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Service Technician to play a vital role in our expanding team. As a Certified Technician, you will be essential in delivering an exceptional customer experience by accurately diagnosing vehicle issues and performing necessary repairs and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute vehicle repairs and maintenance tasks as specified in the repair order, ensuring efficiency and adherence to dealership and manufacturer standards.
- Collaborate with Service Advisors and parts personnel throughout the vehicle inspection and repair process to set clear customer expectations regarding parts availability, repair costs, and completion timelines.
- Conduct thorough multi-point inspections to provide precise recommendations for repairs and maintenance, ensuring the safety and reliability of vehicles before returning them to customers.
- Document all work performed meticulously, including repairs, maintenance completed, and detailed accounts of diagnostic procedures and inspections.
- Maintain compliance with General Motors training requirements by keeping all certifications up-to-date.
- Ensure a clean and safe working environment in accordance with shop standards.
- Properly manage shop tools, ensuring they are clean and organized for the next technician's use.
- Stay informed on factory technical bulletins and repair documentation.
- Enhance customer loyalty and shop revenue by providing outstanding repair experiences.
- Communicate effectively with the Service Manager and team to address any issues that may arise, ensuring smooth shop operations.
- Assist less experienced technicians as needed to promote high-quality service and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age to work in the Service Center.
- Possession of a valid US-issued Driver's License is required.
- Ability to pass pre-employment testing, including background checks and motor vehicle records.
- ASE or OEM Certification is highly preferred.
- Capability to safely operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.
- Experience with shop equipment, including lifts, diagnostic tools, and hand tools.
- Completion of a relevant post-secondary program or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated professionalism and a strong work ethic, with a commitment to integrity.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as documentation of repairs is a critical aspect of the role.
- Attention to detail in all tasks is crucial.
- Adherence to Union requirements, including payment of Union dues as per guidelines.
