Position Summary

We are currently seeking a proficient and driven Production Engineering Specialist to enhance our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will lead significant technical projects aimed at elevating product quality, reducing production costs, and boosting productivity while maintaining strict compliance with safety, quality, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement projects to streamline work processes, enhance tooling, increase throughput, minimize waste, and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate and resolve quality-related challenges using methodologies such as 8D, Kaizen, DMAIC, and root cause analysis.
  • Create and uphold production-related documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work closely with production supervisors, operators, toolmakers, and maintenance personnel to identify and address production requirements.
  • Provide expertise in designing and troubleshooting automation systems.
  • Resolve technical issues in production, identify root causes, implement solutions, and monitor their effectiveness through empirical data.
  • Collaborate with cost accountants to identify process improvement opportunities that enhance financial performance.
  • Design and implement essential tools, fixtures, or equipment to increase production efficiency, reduce errors, improve inspections, and enhance ergonomics.
  • Develop lean cell layouts and workflows to minimize waste and optimize productivity and ergonomics.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending industry events and pursuing continuing education opportunities.
  • Participate in the PPAP process, including drawing feasibility reviews, manufacturing reviews, and Failure Modes and Effects Analyses (FMEAs) reviews.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a mechanical aptitude.
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a medium to high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, 5S, and Lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical and electrical components.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, is highly preferred.
  • Experience with GD&T and automation design or programming is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with vision system technology and ERP systems is a plus.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate across various departments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Knowledge of time studies and ISO/QS standards is beneficial.
  • Experience in Plastic Injection/Insert Molding and/or Progressive Stamping is a plus.
