Culinary Cashier Trainee

Position Overview:

This entry-level role within the Nutrition Services department is designed for individuals eager to learn and grow in the culinary field. Successful candidates will undergo training in cashier operations and food safety protocols, with the potential to transition into regular part-time positions upon completion.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the preparation and serving of meals, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
2. Perform cashier duties during meal service, including handling cash transactions.
3. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment and dining areas, adhering to scheduled cleaning protocols.
4. Support the processing of payments and assist in preparing end-of-day financial reports.
5. Keep accurate records of food preparation and inventory, ensuring proper storage and labeling of leftovers.
6. Collaborate with team members to meet the demands of the kitchen and assist with additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have some experience in large volume food preparation or cashiering.

Licenses and Certifications:

A criminal background check is required prior to hiring. Candidates must also be able to complete a physical examination and meet national professional standards for school nutrition professionals.

Compensation and Benefits:
