Become a Housekeeping Associate at Hostelling International USA
Are you enthusiastic about providing a clean and welcoming environment for guests from around the globe? As a Housekeeping Associate at our vibrant hostel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our visitors enjoy a pleasant and comfortable stay.
Position Details:
Compensation: $18.85 per hour (+$1 shift differential for overnight shifts)
Working Hours: PM Shifts from 4 PM to 12:30 AM
Employment Type: Temporary, approximately 3 months

Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly clean and prepare guest accommodations, including dormitories and restrooms, to uphold our high cleanliness standards.
- Perform daily cleaning tasks such as mopping, vacuuming, and sweeping both indoor and outdoor areas.
- Manage laundry duties, including washing, sorting, folding, and restocking linens.
- Change and launder bed linens, blankets, and towels as required.
- Wash and organize kitchenware and utensils.
- Disinfect sinks, toilets, and showers; ensure soap and toilet paper are adequately stocked.
- Clean windows and window treatments as necessary.
- Dust all surfaces, furniture, and fixtures in guest rooms and hallways.
- Empty trash and recycling bins on a daily basis.
- Report any maintenance issues to management.
- Assist in managing housekeeping supply inventory.
- Perform light maintenance and groundskeeping tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Preferred minimum of six months experience in hotel or hostel housekeeping.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Customer service experience is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and arms.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to climb or maintain balance.
- Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required include close, peripheral, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
