Nursing Faculty Position

Arizona College of Nursing is seeking a dedicated and experienced nursing faculty member to join our team. As a Clinical Nursing Instructor, you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of nursing professionals.

As a Clinical Nursing Instructor, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing instruction that facilitates students' achievement of course objectives.
- Engaging in scholarly and service activities to promote professional development.
- Contributing to the success of the College and its students.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating and maintaining knowledge of overall program, program outcomes, and assigned course objectives.
- Designing an effective learning environment that facilitates student learning to address contemporary issues in nursing.
- Leading simulation learning experiences.
- Overseeing instruction and grading of clinical adjuncts.
- Facilitating the nursing students' application of theory to clinical practice.
- Communicating effectively with clinical agency representatives, staff, faculty, and students.
- Identifying and communicating problem areas/clinical areas of concern to Course Lead Faculty.
- Providing weekly and as needed communication with Course Lead Faculty concerning student progress.
- Grading associated clinical papers and providing students with timely and clear feedback.
- Maintaining all records on student performance.
- Completing clinical site evaluations.
- Adhering to/enforcing the policies and procedures of Arizona College of Nursing and the assigned clinical facility.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you will also be expected to:
- Connect students to College resources for their success.
- Consistently demonstrate and coach students on soft skills: Leadership and ethics, Communication and critical thinking, Teamwork and collaboration, Responsibility and dependability.
- Provide input to developing, evaluating, and revising program policies.
- Protect student privacy through completing required FERPA training and upholding FERPA guidelines.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- An Associate of Science Degree in Nursing from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) required (Bachelor's preferred).
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience as a professional registered nurse providing direct patient care.
- Previous experience teaching in a registered nursing program at a college or university is preferred.
- Holds a current unencumbered state professional registered nurse license or enhanced compact nurse licensure relevant to the state of teaching location.
- Certified Nurse Educator certification and national certification in area of nursing specialty is preferred.
