Job Summary:

As a Segment Manager at ARCADIS, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects. You will be responsible for reviewing design and construction phase submittals for contract compliance, implementing technical contract requirements, and tracing those as objective evidence in the handover process. You will also assist in developing and deploying project QA/QC standards, best practices, policies, and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

• Review and implement technical contract requirements and trace those as objective evidence in the handover process
• Assist with developing and deploying project QA/QC standards, best practices, policies, and procedures
• Contribute to design phase charrettes and advise on potential constructability and quality issues during construction
• Coordinate and manage people, materials, and equipment, as well as the contractor's compliance with the client's safety policies and conducting safety assessments as required by the client
• Manage all field operations and work sequences to report to the Project Manager
• Anticipate project needs with sufficient lead time to avoid production delays
• Assist Engineering and Quality departments in reviewing and closing out Non-Conformances
• Oversee coordination with project staff to outline work plans and assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
• Review status, modify schedules or plans as required, and prepare project reports for management and owners
• Determine that the contractor's work is performed per the construction contract, project plans, specifications, and all other contract documents and amendments to it to guard against defects and deficiencies in the contractor's work
• Effectively interface with the client, program manager, design-builder, and numerous 3rd parties
• Train and develop segment field inspectors in field inspections and NCR close-out for large bridges
• Prepare and actively participate in the resolution of project deficiency reporting by writing NCRs
• Participate in the preparation of a Work Plan for each distinct element of work


Requirements:

A Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or in any civil engineering related occupation. In the alternative, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (or foreign equivalent) and five (5) years of experience in the job offered, or in any civil engineering related occupation.


Special Requirements:

Must have academic training or experience in the following: 1. Earthworks; 2. Utilities; 3. Grade separations; 4. Bridge structures; 5. Environmental clearances/permits; and 6. Caltrans civil and structures processes.
