Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Platform Developer to design, implement, and optimize new features and components of our enterprise feature platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in backend development, advanced Python skills, and proficiency in data engineering and distributed computing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and enhance platform features, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and other platform users to understand their needs and build tooling that enhances their workflows and productivity.
  • Create high-quality libraries and abstractions that simplify complex tasks, are well-documented, promote best practices, and enhance the overall developer experience.
  • Maintain and improve system performance, monitoring, debugging, and resolving production issues at scale.
  • Drive innovation in data infrastructure, mentoring platform users on best practices.
  • Implement best practices in software engineering, applying principles of OOP, SOLID design, and automated testing.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in backend development, with expertise in Python, FastAPI, and a deep understanding of building scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
  • Advanced Python skills, including proficiency in Python parallelism and concurrency, and experience in designing scalable Python libraries.
  • Proficiency in data engineering, with strong experience with SQL, data modeling, and working with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Databricks.
  • Experience with distributed computing, familiarity with technologies like Ray, PySpark, Kafka, or Kinesis, and an understanding of the trade-offs involved in distributed system design.
  • Hands-on DevOps expertise, with experience in Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, CloudFormation, Helm, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
  • Proven track record in performance optimization, with demonstrated ability to develop high-performance systems, and experience in optimizing APIs and data processing pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with ability to troubleshoot complex systems and provide innovative solutions to technical challenges.
