About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our team at a locally owned CPA firm in Long Island, NY. As a Tax Manager, you will be responsible for reviewing and preparing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns in accordance with tax law, utilizing our preparation and review processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Review: Perform technical review of selected tax returns, including business and 1040, 1120, and 1065 returns.
  • Complex Tax Issues: Deal with more complex tax issues and prepare more complex tax returns for various types of entities.
  • Tax Planning: Prepare tax planning, estimates, and become involved in planning for more complex clients.
  • Accounting and Tax Assignments: Perform diversified accounting and tax assignments under the direction of manager and shareholder.
  • Quality Control: Thoroughly verify information through independent research, document complicated issues, and communicate source information.
  • Client Service: Contribute to the client service team by producing quality work, quick turnaround, and attentive service.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Master's Degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years relative work experience as a Tax Manager/Reviewer.
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting, demonstrating a progression in complexity of accounting tasks and tax knowledge.
  • Technical proficiency in tax software applications.
