Overview

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Veterinarian to join our team at Charles River. In this critical role, you will be responsible for providing top-notch veterinary care and advice to support the successful completion of research studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular veterinary rounds to monitor animal health and provide timely interventions as needed.
  • Collaborate with researchers and scientists to develop and refine study protocols that minimize animal stress and discomfort.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff on best practices in animal care, handling, and husbandry.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on animal welfare and compliance matters, providing guidance and support to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 0-2 years of experience in animal care or a related field (with preference given to those with prior laboratory animal experience).
  • Licensure to practice veterinary medicine in at least one U.S. state is required; ability to practice in the work state highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
