Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Certified

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician Certified to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. As a Pharmacy Technician Certified, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications to our patients.

Job Summary:

The Pharmacy Technician Certified will work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to perform various tasks related to the preparation and dispensing of medications. This includes filling routine orders, counting and packaging medications, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:
  • Fills routine orders for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals
  • Performs routine duties under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
  • Rounds on nursing units to deliver medications and refill pyxis machines
  • Completes unit inspections as assigned
  • Answers phones and assists with inquiries
  • Maintains accurate records and inventory control
  • Restocks pharmacy dispensing area and supplies
  • Replenishes floor stock for patient care areas and ancillary departments
  • Processes emergency drug containers
  • Accurately documents dispensing of controlled substances
  • Inspects inventory for expiration dates and proper storage
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Board of Pharmacy PTCB certification
  • Registration with the State of New Jersey at time of hire
