Job Summary

The Arizona Public Service Company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Management Services Leader to lead a team of construction managers in providing field-based contract and construction management services for Generation capital projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to a team of construction managers responsible for developing daily work plans, submitting requests for lockout/tagout, and overseeing quality assurance/quality control.
  • Schedule and enforce processes and procedures to ensure work is completed safely, timely, and cost-effectively.
  • Develop a high-performing team through effective staffing, training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Administer salary administration and performance management processes.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and maintenance supervisors to coordinate upcoming level of effort for quality assurance/quality control oversight schedules and assignments.
  • Work closely with project management supervisors and project managers to assign and manage construction management personnel support services on capital projects.
  • Assist plant outage managers in planning outages and outage schedules.
  • Assist the long-range forecast team by partnering with project manager supervisors to review future projects for feasible schedules and constructability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, construction management, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Four years of experience in construction management of power plant retrofit projects.
  • In lieu of a bachelor's degree, a combination of college coursework and/or experience in construction management of power plant retrofit projects totaling eight years.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electric power plant modification construction management.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities and effective interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of schedule and contract management and the lockout/tagout process.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo, MS Project, Primavera P6, and other computer software applications.
  • Knowledge of Project Management Institute (PMI) processes.
  • Experience in project management or engineering.
  • Project Management Institute Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification.
