Key Responsibilities- Assist teachers in maintaining a safe and controlled classroom environment, promoting a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Observe and respond to student behavior, providing individualized support and interventions to redirect or modify behavior as needed.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with teachers, staff, and parents, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Provide physical and emotional support to students, including assistance with self-help skills, mobility, and daily living activities.
- Assist with educational skills development, including communication, reading, writing, and basic arithmetic, as well as art and computer usage.
- Supervise students during campus activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Administer medication and perform medical procedures as directed by prescription and parent consent.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including student progress and incident reports.
- First Aid Certificate, including CPR
- Knowledge of special needs of students with behavioral, learning, or physical disabilities
- Ability to develop and maintain professional rapport with teachers and staff
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
This position requires heavy physical effort, including the ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
