Job Overview

Profound Treatment operates multiple residential detox facilities, providing a comprehensive range of therapeutic options in both residential and outpatient environments.

We are in search of a dedicated Therapist to enhance our Clinical Team. Candidates must hold a registration as an associate (AMFT) or possess a license (LMFT) from the California Board of Behavioral Science.

The ideal applicant will demonstrate a positive demeanor while engaging with clients facing challenges related to substance use, mental health, and co-occurring disorders.

A solid understanding of substance use disorders, family dynamics, mental health issues, evidence-based practices, as well as holistic and comprehensive care approaches, along with knowledge of community recovery resources, is essential for this position. Additionally, familiarity with current legal standards related to professional practice, reporting obligations, and ethical boundaries is required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Timely review and response to intake referrals within 48 hours of case assignment.
  • Manage a caseload of participants effectively, based on experience.
  • Conduct thorough Bio/Psycho/Social assessments, provide diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
  • Assist participants with aftercare and discharge planning.
  • Deliver direct clinical services, including individual, group, family, and/or couples therapy.
  • Collaborate with professionals both within the organization and externally, as necessary.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive participant records that comply with DHCS and Joint Commission standards.
  • Participate in on-call emergency consultations and crisis interventions, including after-hours support.
  • Attend weekly team meetings to ensure high-quality care for participants.
  • Engage in staff development and general meetings.
  • Adhere to the ethical standards and values of Profound Treatment.
  • Exhibit cultural sensitivity and responsiveness.
Qualifications

Required:

  • For Independently Licensed Therapists: MSW from an accredited social work program, or MA in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field, along with a current California license (LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Clinical Psychologist).
  • For Associate Licensed Therapists: MSW from an accredited social work program, or MA in Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or a related field, and registration with the Board of Behavioral Services or Board of Psychology.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Capability to maintain accurate documentation and chart records.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to build rapport with clients.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to provide health and TB clearance, and to pass background checks and drug screenings.

Desired:

  • Experience in addiction treatment and dual diagnosis.
  • Experience facilitating process therapy groups.
  • Experience working with adults, couples, and families affected by substance abuse.
Physical and Work Environment

The physical demands of this role require the ability to perform essential duties, including sitting, walking, standing, driving, and lifting up to 20 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
